Here is my response to the HR interview regarding the company branding project about manager roles. I hope to share valuable insights with you as well.
“Hi anh Phát, Thank you for your contribution to the company! On behalf of our HR team, I’d like to nominate your hard-working on our LinkedIn page, this is a part of our Employer Branding project. Therefore, I have a few questions for you, please choose to answer (in a paragraph) 1 question among these ones…”
What makes someone successful on your team?
a) Be mindful. You need to be aware that you’re not just a person with the job title. You’re an essential member of an awesome team, company and industry. You need to know the company’s goal, the team’s goal and what you can bring to the table.
b) Respect the differences. Everyone is unique with their strengths and weaknesses. We need to respect that and learn from their experiences and knowledge that we may not possess.
c) Be a great player in the team. Be responsible, be countable, contribute your talent and cover each other back.
d) Have fun. We’re all here to live, to learn, to share and on the way to reach a better version of ourselves. So have fun and enjoy your time.
Can you please descript your role?
I’m so lucky and proud to be the talented digital production team manager in 3+ years. What I have been doing here is to build and maintain a good environment that allows all members to perform their talents and unlock their higher potentials. I also act as a “service provider” in providing the necessary suppliers, support, advice and sometimes with tough questions.
Besides that, I am always looking for new challenges and inspiring the team to explore and expand the border. Be more awesome than yesterday.
What’s important to you as a manager?
From the management class recently, I had learned that team members’ motivation is the most important criterion to all managers and leaders. Motivation is the gas for the team to achieve the goal, and the good manager should be the person who continuously checks the gas status and maintenance the plans to manage it to archive the goal.
